At Meridian Ceramics, I’m committed to making beautiful, functional pottery with as little impact on the environment as possible.
Materials
I use stoneware and porcelain clays sourced from UK suppliers to minimise transport miles. All glazes are food-safe and free from lead or other harmful substances.
Making Process
Each piece is hand-thrown in small batches. Any trimmings or unfired clay are recycled back into new work, helping reduce waste.
Energy Use
My pieces are fired in an efficient electric kiln, always stacked to capacity to make the most of each firing cycle and reduce energy consumption.
Packaging
Orders are carefully wrapped using recyclable cardboard and paper. I also reuse packaging materials wherever possible to avoid unnecessary waste.
Longevity
I design and make ceramics to be durable, practical, and long-lasting — offering a sustainable alternative to mass-produced, short-life products.
