This thin stoneware vase was a technical challenge to myself to throw – tall and thin is not easy on the wheel – and the glazing was a bit of an experiment – believe it or not I used a white glaze with copper oxide/frit wash at the top. The results are unexpected, it’s created an ash coloured top which I’ve grown to really like.
Hand-thrown and fired to 1260°C in oxidation.
