about me
Hello, I’m Chris — a potter based in South East London. I work from a home studio, making simple, functional ceramics in small batches. Everything is thrown on the wheel, trimmed, glazed, and fired by hand. It’s a slow process, and that’s part of why I love it.
My background is in software development — creative in its own way, but digital, fast, and abstract. Pottery offered me something different: a chance to slow down and make physical things that you can hold, use, and live with. I was drawn to the feel of it — the rhythm of the wheel, the quiet focus it demands, the joy (and occasional heartbreak) of opening the kiln.
I make pieces intended for everyday use — bowls, mugs, jugs, dishes — all with a focus on soft lines, balanced forms, and surfaces that invite touch. I like working in porcelain and stoneware, exploring subtle variations in glaze and texture. No two pieces are ever exactly the same, and I take pleasure in those small differences that come from the hand-making process.
This is a small, personal project — not a factory, not a big brand. Just one person making things slowly and carefully, in a studio in a corner of London. If you’ve bought a piece, thank you — I hope it becomes part of your daily rituals.
