Meridian Ceramics

I’m Chris, a London-based potter working under the name Meridian Ceramics. I create small-batch functional ceramics, primarily wheel-thrown and finished entirely by hand — each piece shaped, trimmed, and glazed in the studio before being fired at high stoneware temperatures.

My work is rooted in a love of process, material, and everyday use. I’m drawn to simple forms, tactile surfaces, and the subtle variations that come from making slowly by hand rather than pursuing perfect uniformity. Influenced by both traditional studio pottery and contemporary ceramics, I aim to make pieces that feel quiet, balanced, and comfortable to live with.

I work mainly in stoneware and porcelain, often exploring layered glazes, iron-rich clays, and marbled surfaces to create depth and movement within functional forms. Every pot is intended to be used daily — held in the hands, shared around a table, and gradually becoming part of someone’s routine.
